The Dreadful Lollie Land Witch
I know a place where the deep, green grass is mint flavoured. The rivers are bubbly soda and the poles of houses are red and white candy cane. The snow is soft, fluffy vanilla ice cream and bright red jelly babies grow in the trees.

It began on a cold winter's day and it was pouring cats and dogs, I was at my Grandma's house. There was not much to do there. There never is when I'm at my Grandma's.

‘Yes! It's the phone. I'm saved,’ I thought as the phone started ringing.

"I'll get it!" I yelled to my grandma in the kitchen.

"Hello," I said.

"Hi. It's me, Karla. You want to come over Cassie?" Karla's my best friend she has red hair like strawberry's and deep green eyes.

"Yeah sure," I said. "Hey Grandma, I'm going to Karla's, alright?"

"Alright," said Grandma.

I peddled over on my bike. I knocked on the light brown, wood door. Karla's mum answered, "Where's Karla?" I asked.

"She's in the lounge," her mother answered.

I walked into the lounge room and there was Karla playing with the VHS.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Fixing the VHS. We're going to watch video's since we can't play baseball."

"Where are we getting the movies from?" I asked.

"My room," she replied.

I followed her up the cold stone steps to her room. There were millions of videos there. I took a video from the shelf and there was a shiny silver button.

"Karla look at this!" I called.

"Wow!" she said. "Press it Cassie."

"Okay," I said.

"Beep" and with that Karla and I disappeared, but not for long. No; not for long - there in front of us was a short elf, with a long snowy white beard and his twinkling eyes were like blue stars.

"Boogies the name," he said. "Pleased to meet you. Welcome to Lollie land"

"Llollieland," Karla said in a trembling voice.

I couldn't move. "What are we doing here?"

"You are going to save us from the evil witch," replied Boogie.

"WHAT?" we yelled together. "Who's the evil witch?" I asked.

"She tortures our people by making them her slaves and if we don't do what she says she beats us to death ," replied Boogie.

"Ha, ha, ha!"

"What's that?" said Karla. "Aaaaaah!"

"KARLA!" I yelled. No reply.

"Hey, hey, hey."

"What's that?" I asked.

"It must be the witch. She has taken your friend."

"Ah!" I screamed. There in front of me was a green-faced hag. I hit her with a stick, she whacked me with her wand. I found a sword and stabbed it in her black heart and that was the end of the wicked witch.

Finally, Karla and I had a chance to look around. What we saw was astonishing. Mint grass, soda rivers - this place surely was a Lollieland.

I turned to Boogie. He looked about as surprised as we were. I think it was because of the defeat of the witch.

Then suddenly all these little elves, pixies and fairies came running out of Gingerbread houses shouting, "Hooray!"

"Thank you," said Boogie. "You have earned the respect of me and my people and we are going to give you a special gift, a choice you can stay here with us or go.

"Thank you Boogie, for all you've done but I can't stay here I have responsibilities in my world I have to go back."

"You are wise," said Boogie and then we were home.

'What an adventure,' I thought as we hit the hard floor of Karla's bedroom.
