Bringing a storyteller into the classroom or auditorium provides students of all ages with highly accessible, entertaining and educational experiences. A good storyteller demonstrates to students and teachers the fun and power of being expressive and creative with narrative. I select stories from my repertoire to suit the age of the student, the energy of the event and outcomes requested. Involving students in retelling traditional stories from around the world, and contemporary and personal stories from Australia, encourages students to value, create, tell and write their own stories. | ||||

"Those who do not have power over the
story that dominates their lives -- the power to retell it, rethink it,
deconstruct it, joke about it, and change it as times change -- truly
are powerless, because they cannot think new thoughts."
